This release makes transcription work on every Windows PC, including one that has never had any developer software installed. It also makes importing from a read-only folder work, and adds a fallback for older processors.
Transcription works on every Windows PC
On some Windows PCs, recording worked but no text appeared. The app depended on a piece of Windows software that many PCs have, but not all of them. Snug Transcribe now carries that piece itself, so transcription works on a fresh PC too.
Older processors are covered as well. If your PC cannot run the fast speech engine, the app now falls back to one that runs on any processor. It is slower, and it works.
Import from anywhere
Importing with Move from a read-only folder, such as a network share, used to fail. The app now copies the file instead and tells you that the original stayed where it was.
Fixes and improvements
- The recording clock in the recording view now stays in step with the clock in the banner.
- When a transcription fails, the reason is now written to the error log on your device, so an error report tells us what happened.
- Plus visual and stability improvements throughout the app.
