These terms govern your use of the Snug Transcribe application ("the app"), published by Snug Studio. By installing or using the app you agree to them.
The service
Snug Transcribe records audio and transcribes it on your device. The free tier includes 60 minutes of transcription per week. The optional Unlimited upgrade removes that limit. It is sold two ways, a one-time purchase or a monthly subscription, and both unlock exactly the same thing. Recording is never limited on either tier.
If you link your own devices, the app can pass a recording from one to another over your local network so a more powerful device does the transcribing. That transfer is encrypted and stays between your devices. Nothing about it reaches us.
Purchases and refunds
Unlimited is sold through the app store you installed from (Google Play, Microsoft Store, or Apple's App Store). Payment, receipts, and refunds are handled by that store under its own terms and refund policy. A subscription renews until you cancel it, which you do in that store. The Unlimited unlock is tied to your store account and can be restored on your devices through the store.
Your content and your responsibility
- Your recordings and transcripts are yours. They exist on your own devices. We have no copy, so back up anything you cannot afford to lose. Transcripts can be exported as text files.
- You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you when recording. In many places, recording a conversation requires the consent of the people in it.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app to violate the law or the rights of others, and do not attempt to reverse the app's licensing checks. That is it. Since the app runs on your device with your data, there is little else to restrict.
Accuracy
Transcription is automatic speech recognition and will contain errors. Do not rely on a transcript as an exact record without reviewing it against the audio, especially for medical, legal, or financial purposes.
Warranty and liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Snug Studio's total liability arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version always lives at this address with its effective date. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
